Last years winners of the Race for the Hills, Team TRI- LOR (from left, Lori Martin, Laur- een Thorne and Laurie Green) get ready for the the second annual fun event on October 13. Teams wanted for Race for the Hills Winning strategies have been developed in boardrooms or even sitting around the kitchen table but what about during an Aerosmith concert? That may be just the ticket for one local team of Lori Martin, Laureen Thorne and Laurie Green better known as Tri-Lor. As the 2006 winner of the first annual Race for the Hills, team Tri-Lor, will return Saturday, October 13 to defend their title. Martin cannot wait to see what is in store having endured physical and mental chal- lenges that involved bikes, bodies, brains and creative poetic clues last year. The event attracts participants of all abili- ties and leaves a lasting mark. One 2006 chal- lenge involved soldering metal with the guid- ance of local artist Doris Treleaven. Martin notes the resulting compilation of all teams artwork, permanently on display at the Cultural Centre, is a great memento of the race. In the meantime, when not strategizing to rock music, the ladies fit in the odd bike or run whenever they can. Tri-Lors advice to other teams is to just work together and have fun. Race for the Hills 2007 registration deadline is Friday September 28. Call 905-873-2601, ext. 2275 or visit www.haltonhills.ca/recand- parks
