Halton Police are now investigating the blaze at the home that was undergo- ing renovations at the time of the fire and slated for golf course construction, according to police. Total damage is unknown. Tickets galore Nearly 200 tickets were handed out in Halton Hills by Halton Police during Project Safe Start that ended Friday. Throughout the Project that began Monday Sept. 4 police were reminding drivers to pay close attention to the rules of the road, particularly now when the children are returning to school. The focus was on the five Ss- speeding, seat- belts, stop signs, school zones and school buses. In Halton Hills, police gave out 109 tickets for speeding, 19 for stop sign viola- tions, 5 for seatbelt violations, 58 for other violations and issued 60 warnings. In total 1,047 tickets were issued region-wide during the Project. Golf clubs stolen Halton Police report a set of Calloway golf clubs, valued at $1,500, were stolen sometime between Friday and Wednes- day from an unlocked Chevrolet SUV parked at a Russell Dr. Georgetown home. Snow blower taken A Toro snow blower valued at $655 was taken from a garage at a Delrex Blvd. home sometime Saturday or Sunday. Police say its unknown how entry was gained. Clarification Due to incorrect information supplied to The Independent & Free Press there was an error in a report that appeared in Wednesdays newspaper about a youth charged after a disturbance.
