Driveway Snow Windrow Removal Program A program for seniors and individuals with physical disabilities How can I get help? The Town of Oakville, together with Links2Care, has a Driveway Snow Windrow Removal service to assist you. Have your windrow cleared all season for just $50 plus HST ($56.50). Registration runs from October 25 to November 26, 2010. Whats a windrow? A windrow is the pile of heavy snow at the end of your driveway made by the snowplow when it clears the street. Shoveling a windrow can be a task beyond the physical resources of some seniors and individuals with physical disabilities. For more information Call 905-338-7669 or visit www.links2care.ca Maintenance dredging of Oakville Harbour The Town of Oakville will be conducting a scheduled maintenance dredge of Oakville Harbour and will transport approximately 19,000 cubic metres of removed material to the Fourth Line landfill site. Dredging is the removal of accumulated lake bottom sediments and siltation which occurs naturally in creek and channel openings. The accumulation of silt limits accessibility of larger boats into the harbor and every eight to ten years, silt must be removed through a dredging operation to restore the creek to a depth that is serviceable by boaters. Residents can expect dredging to occur from Monday to Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Dredging is expected to be complete on or before March 31, 2011. Please see map for the truck haulage route. For more information please call 905-845-6601, ext.3109 or email bwilson@oakville.ca.
