But this isnt your average car launch. In honour of the automotive glory days, Budds Chevrolet has pulled out all the stops for the Cruze, Chevrolets first global compact car. This is the biggest launch in General Motors history in terms of visibility, spend- ing and social media, says Wayne Carter, general manager of Budds Chevrolet. Theyre really putting their best foot for- ward with this car. Customers are invited to the dealership at 410 South Service Road West in Oakville to take the new 2011 Cruze out for a cruise all week. Budds is holding a draw for a 46 tel- evision prize and with each test-drive, cus- tomers will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card. But the festivities dont end there. Budds will be introducing the Cruze to Oakvilles hockey fans this Friday night (Oct 29th) at Sixteen Mile Sports Facility as the Oakville Blades take on the Orangeville Flyers. The first 500 fans to arrive at the arena will receive a free Chevy Cruze t-shirt. Saturday will see the Cruze and the Oakville Blades reunite at the Budds Chevrolet dealership, with the entire team coming out for a meet- and-greet and barbecue with fans starting at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. This is General Motors essentially put- ting all their cards on the table. The Cruze represents General Motors future in the small car market, says Carter. Theyve taken the best of everything and put it into this vehicle. For its size and price, the Cruze is noth- ing short of spectacular. Starting at just $14,995, its the most aggressive launch price ever offered by General Motors, says Carter, and with 10 airbags, stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, power windows, doors and locks and remote key- less entry as standard features, the Cruze offers consumers more bang for their buck than any other small car on the market. Its the best value, safest, most advanced small car available now, Carter says. Its exactly what consumers are ask- ing for; remarkable fuel efficiency, top notch safety and great value. In addition to the standard features available, the Cruze recognizes that todays consumers are much more technological- ly inclined and offers OnStar, Bluetooth and MP3 capabilities for the new genera- tion of drivers. Not only does the Cruze deliver on all the concerns of the consumer, General Motors was able to incorporate their desire for greener technologies into their newest venture. The best-in-class interior of the Cruze features insulation made 70 per cent recy- cled denim, so being environmentally-con- scious really is in our genes, jokes Carter. In addition to the weeklong celebration, Budds Chevrolet is extending their hand to the community, in a big way. Owner Chris Budd has donated a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze to the Minor Oaks Hockey Association, to be raffled off at the end of the season. Budds has always been about support- ing the community, says Carter. All three Budd brothers grew up here and were play- ers in the MOHA. With the MOHA celebrat- ing their 50th anniversary this year, Chris wanted to do something for the organiza- tion to say thanks. The prize car is not just a basic model, however. Even with the base model having standard features that are typically consid- ered additional options on most other cars, Budds has gone above and beyond with the raffle car.
