helping people build a stronger community for everyone. It is a volunteer-driven organization that raises money for local agen- cies. When you donate to UWO, you are supporting 33 social serv- ice agencies in Oakville. Many of the agencies you may already know, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton. However, other agencies are smaller and less known, such as STRIDE, an agency that assists individuals with mental health issues. These smaller agencies are just as vital to the community, however, may not otherwise exist without United Way of Oakville funding. Last year, UWO helped support more than 30,000 people in Oakville. Many more are still in need. This year, we are asking everyone in Oakville to Live United. Be an everyday hero by donating just $1 a day to UWO. Your $1 a day can provide 73 chil- dren with a breakfast, lunch or snack at their school through Halton Food for Thought. Seventy-three children will not sit in class hungry because of you, if you become an everyday hero. Help us create opportunities for a better life for all. LIVE UNIT- ED this year.
