Based on an analysis of technical, environmental and socio-economic factors, and public and stakeholder feedback, Hydro One is proposing the construction of a new transformer station to ensure an adequate and reliable supply of power to meet growing electricity needs in the Regional Municipality of Halton. The proposed transformer station would consist of two transformers which would be connected to the existing double circuit 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission lines that run parallel to Highway 407 between Appleby Line and Regional Road 25 (see map). This study was conducted in accordance with the Class Environmental Assessment for Minor Transmission Facilities, approved under the provincial Environmental Assessment Act.
