Oakville residents will be able to elect officials to represent them at the Town and Regional councils and at their school boards. The cost to run for mayor is $200 and all other offices are $100. Likewise, a person has until 2 p.m. today to withdraw his or her nom- ination by submitting a written withdrawal to the Town Clerk. The fee money will be returned to the candidate if he or she withdraws. A person wishing to run for the Chair of the Region of Halton must file his or her nomination form with Halton Region. Those wish- ing to run as a trustee at the Halton District French Public School Board must file their forms with the City of Hamilton. The Town Clerk will certify valid- ly filed nomination forms before 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13. Immediately after 4 p.m., the Town Clerk will declare any acclaimed eli- gible candidate(s) to be duly elected.
