Police said a sedan carrying the two seniors had been travelling south in the area of Kerr St., when it collided with a northbound SUV. The driver of the sedan, a 73-year-old Oakville resident sustained a broken femur, a broken patella and a broken ankle. The passenger, a 71-year-old Oakville resident, received a serious head injury, which is not considered life threat- ening. Both seniors have been taken to Hamilton General Hospital for treatment. The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old Oakville resident, was not seriously injured. The Halton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident. Crash injures two The First Choice Hair Salon at 220 North Service Rd. was robbed Thursday night, Halton police said. Just before 9 p.m. a lone man walked into the salon and approached an employee. The man revealed the brown handle of what looked to be a handgun, tucked inside the waist band of his pants and demanded money. The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled from the salon. He was seen getting into the passenger side of an early model white or grey van. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as white, 25-30 years old, 511 with an average build and short brown hair. He wore a grey hooded sweat- shirt, grey jeans and big round sunglasses. Police are continuing to inves- tigate this incident.
