The 18-year-old, who calls him- self Maxi El Suave, has entered the Winners Wow Canada and Win tal- ent search contest and is in the top 10 in online voting. However, the field will be narrowed down to the top three shortly and he needs to garner as many votes as he can to proceed further and hopefully win. The main reason I decided to do this is because I believe I have a little gift and talent of bringing a funny essence to all situations and as well because I never know who might be watching my video, it could be Jim Carrey perhaps, he said in an email. I love to make people laugh and being the clown of everything. The contest was open to youths aged 12 to 24. Participants were asked to submit a video, song or photo that shows their talent. The contest is part of Winners back-to- school ad campaign, which includes webisode and digital ad appearances by 16-year-old jazz- pop singer Nikki Yanofsky. The winner of the contest will win hang out time with Yanofsky, or, as Camacho calls it, a date, plus another $5,000 in cash and a spending spree at Winners. Camacho developed his three- minute video with his two friends Masoud Barihi and Amir Tehrani and the trio will split the money should the video win. Camacho said he would use his winnings to buy school books as he is currently enrolled at the University of Toronto Mississauga. In January she will be attending the school full-time for a double major in a vocal and music business program but said she will continue working on her music career while at school. Simpson will launch her EP, titled Raw, and will perform with her backing band of Montfort and Flynn, known as The Cofunkabil-a-Buddies. Raw features original folk-style tunes.
