- Fatal Fall from Rack Lifter.
Mr. James Turnbull, one of Nelson's oldest and most respected residents, was accidentally killed last Friday afternoon. He was assisting his son at harvesting that day, and had accompanied a load of grain to the barn. This was being unloaded by means of a rack lifter. After the unloading, Mr. Turnbull was sitting on the rack lifter waiting to be again lowered to the wagon, when the rope slipped off one corner and tilted the frame so that he fell backwards to the floor beneath with such force that his skull was fractured, death being instantaneious. Deceased was 84 years of age, and leaves two sons, James on the homestead, and Dr. J. M Turnbull, dentist, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. - Featured Link
