DEATH OF MRS. C. T. HILL.
Lived a Little More Than a Week
After Being Stricken With
Paralysis.

From the time when Mrs. Charles T. Hill was stricken with paralysis, the Friday before New Years, she gradually sank, until Sunday morning she peacefully passed away. For several months she had been in poor health, but was generally able to be about, and was sitting beside the coal stove the evening the stroke came.
Jane Graham was the daughter of the late James Graham, one of the esteemed pioneers of this section, and was born at Streetsville on 3rd May, 1827. In August, 1846, she was united in wedlock to the late Charles T. Hill, who was for nearly half a century one of our leading merchants, and a member of Acton's first Council after incorporation in 1873. Mr. Hill died on Good Friday, 1901. After their marriage the young couple settled in Peru, where they remained until 2nd April, 1856, when they removed to Acton and settled upon the property which has ever since been the family residence and place of business.
Mr. and Mrs. Hill were blessed with a large family, every member of which has done well and is highly esteemed in the respective localities where they reside. Two children died in infancy. The remaining members of the family are: John C., at Acton; Mrs. (Dr.) Lowry, Guelph; James and Chester, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Thos. Killmaster, Port Rowan; Chas. W., Monroe, Mich.; Henry at Honolulu, H. L., and Mrs. N. R. Lindsay, Toronto. There is seldom found a home where the members have the spirit of family regard and filial love as fully developed. The sincerest reverence was always paid the parents and kindest consideration was had for each other. Mrs. Hill was indeed a Mother in Israel; a member of the Disciples church; a godly woman who lived for her children and will even be held in loving remembrance.
General sympathy is felt for the family in their bereavement and especially for Mr. John C. Hill, who was always at home and more closely associated with his mother as a result.
The funeral on Tuesday afternoon was conducted by Rev. Amos. Tovell, Guelph, an old friend of the family. The following gentlemen were the bearers: Three sons, Messrs. John, James and Charles; Mr. N. R. Lindsay, son-in-law, and two cousins, Messrs. Hill, of Peru.
