- Died from a Paralytic Stroke.
The Guelph Herald says: "The many friends of Mr. George Beattie, harness maker, were shocked Monday morning to hear that during the night he had been the victim of a paralytic stroke and his life was despaired of. Mr. Beattie had been in good health on Sunday, and had attended Chalmers Church morning and evening. He returned from the evening service in the best of spirits and retired early. About one o'clock he awoke and complained of feeling unwell and a physician was called. In the meantime he had relapsed into a comatose condition and has not yet regained consciousness." Mr. Beattie spent Good Friday in Acton, the guest of his son, Mr. David Beattie, and returned home in the evening. He had not been in good health for some time. LATER, - Mr. Beattie died on Tuesday evening. - Media Type
