The Late Mrs. R. B. Cook.
Sarah Elizabeth Kelsey, widow of the late Rev. R. B. Cook, was born in Lewiston, N.Y., in October, 1827. She was married to Mr. Cook in September 1846, and enjoyed with him over fifty-three years of happy married life. She shared with her husband the burdens, sacrifices and joys of his ministry as a pioneer Baptist missionary in the counties of Wellington and Grey about forty years ago. She was the mother of eleven children, six of whom, five sons and one daughter, survive her. Though for many years affected with deafness so that she could not hear a sound, she was one of the most faithful attendants at the services of the Baptist Church here. Three weeks before her death she was present at the services for the last time, true to her lifelong habit and devotion to the last. Sincere and tender words were spoken at the funeral last Friday by her pastor, Rev. W. S. McAlpine, B.D., respecting her godly and trustful life. Rev. D. Dick assisted at the service. The remains were carried to their last earthly resting place beside her sainted husband in Fairview Cemetery by four sons, Rev. C. A. Cook, Bloomfield, N.J., John and William Hamilton, Edward of Acton, and Councillor Hynds and H. P. Moore.
