GEORGETOWN.
It is with deep regret that we have to chronicle the death of Mr. John McDermid, for years a successful merchant of this town. His illness, which only lasted two weeks, was a very painful one, his suffering at times being intense. The funeral on Saturday was very largely attended, showing the high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. Rev. J. Perrin conducted a short service at the house. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.
