Obituary.
It is our sorrowful duty this week to chronicle the death of Mr. Charles Symon, a former resident of Acton, but who removed to Parry Sound, in the fall of 1873, to engage in the lumbering business, in connection with the Guelph Lumber Co'y. The deceased carried on the dry goods and grocery business in Acton for a long time, in partnership with his brother, James Symon, at the stand occupied at present by Christie, Henderson & Co. He was also engaged in the lumber business, at St. Helena, for a number of years. Mr. Symon was well known in this vicinity and respected by all. An attack of typhoid fever was the cause of his death. It was at first intended to bring the body to Acton for interment, but after proceeding some distance on the road the great drifts of snow prevented much being done, and the body was taken back to Parry Sound where the burial took place. He was fifty-six years of age, and leaves a wife and seven children.
