C The Babbaces Bubned, â€" On Friday last shortly before midnight the town was brilliantly illuminated by a fire in Bay Ward, and as soon as the alarm was given, a large number of citizens hurried to the scene of the fire, which proved to be the Drill Shed, which during the past ye.ar has been occupi- ed as the headquarters of the Salvation Army. The residence of Col. Brodie was attached to the rear of the drill shed, and along with it, was complete- ly consumed, veiyhttre of the contents being sayed. The drill shed was built long before our Town Hall, aud has often been the scene of concrts, and various other entertainments in days gone by. As the building was entire^ ly built of wood, it was impossible to even make an attempt to save it. Colonel Brodie is a heavy loser by the disaster. We have seldom had such a large and brilliant fire in Owen Sound, and it must have been visible for many miles. The general impres- sion appears to be the work of an in- cendiary. Since the fire the Army have establislied-themselves in the restaurant building near the C. P. E^ station. â€" 0. S. Adi-erti$er.
