A TioMB efjToafliflil iBmradeaoe caMitf tan Decayi 1w»«b« DcsUUty, The annual Fall Exhibition of the East Grey Agricultural Society was held at Fksh- erton last week, and considering the mni^ drawbacks which farmers have had to coik- tend with this year, was a grand sucjoess. The aryotes exhibiteid in the hall wore placed in position the first day and prizes awarded On W«dd68day the live stock were taken to the show and judged. The attendance was Urge and much interest was displayed by the snectktctt's in viewing the various classes of horses and cattle aa Uiey were judged dur- ing the flay. The show of horses was, Very good and shows that increasing intere^is being taken in raising good horses in the (!;ounty of Grey There was a large number of thoroughbred and grade cattle, many of them Very fine animSris, and show a marked in^rovement on former yesrs. The show of sheep, pigs and f^VI was excellent.. There was a fine disply of busies, c§|piages, wagons and agrfcultural implemeat^. All along one side was arranged the -several classes of grain, and it was quite' a sutprise to many to see the superior quality of the exhibits in this class, and the large number of bags shown. Bath fall and sparing wheat were exceedingly good. The barley was very fine in color. Oats and peas were good. The display of roots was very fine, particularly in onions, carrots, potatoes, celery and turnips. In dairy produce there was a good display. The disphiy in fruit and flowers was very fine. Apples, pears and plums were shown in great variety and occupied nearly the whole of one side of the centre table in the hall. Messrs. Doll t Brown of this place showed in a fine Iglass case a very handsome assortment of wishes and jewellery, which was much admired. Mr. John Gordon, of Flesherton showed several sets of neatly made and substanftal liarness. Mr. Hamil- ton, of Markdale, and Bulmer, of Flesherton had on exhibition fine assortments of phou)- graphs. The former taking first prize. There has generally been on Exhibitiou at the Earst Grey Show a number of fine draw- ings -and paintings, "but the display of i»orks Of art in this class this year is something remarkable, and some very beautiful draw- ings were on exhibition that would be a credit to any artist. The display of Ladies' Work and domestic mranufacturers were very fine, and many of tbe sanotoles exhibited were ex- ceedinglv neat kah wU done. We congratulate the society in their con- tinued success, having labored together with a will, in purchasing grounds, erecting a suitable hill and fence, and 'otherwise work- ing for the prosperity of the society they now enjoy the satisfaction of having the leading Exhibition in the county.
