The crane is equipment of the Department of Highways. Bill Hodson on the bow of his speedy little craft has just com- pleted a tuneup for the next heat. Looking from the railway tracks paralleling the shore line of Lake Baptiste, th e power boats are just a line of foam and spray as they circle the marker buoys. Along the far shore line can be seen summer co ttages with the heavy forest their background.
