Miss Marge Martin of McKean's Mill school spent the week end at her parental hoane. Mr. Roirt. Puarvis had the misfor- tune to fall on the icy road and sprain one of his ankles. We wish him a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Magee visited with Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Magee at Maxwell on Sunday. A dance was held in the hall on Thursday evening" in honor of Mir. and Mrs. Goi-don. Breadner. A pre- sentation of a floor lamp was made to the newly-weds by the community. Both Ml", and Mrs. Breadner made appreciative replies, thanking all for the kindness ti>ward them. MAXWELL The W.T. met at the home of Mrs. Wm. Seeley Wednesday of last week, with a good attedance. The meeting opened with the sirkgT,ng of the Christmas carol "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing," followed with tlie In- stitute ode and prayer. All new business was transacted and a quizz program was conducted. We are pelased to hear that morn- ing service will be held in St. Mary's OhuTch next Sunday, Dec. 21st, at 11 o'clock. The annual church meeting and suipper was held in the church hall last Thursday evoning, with a good attendance of memibers. Aiter the bounteous pot-ltiok supper, the meet- ing was held and all officials were returned to office by acclamation. -A hearty vote of thanks was tendered for their splendid work durinp-the past year. VALLEY ROAD SOUTH Wedding bells are ringing! Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gibson and fam- ily of Pj-iceville. accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. John Wickena, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Wickena at Meaford. Mr. and Mrs. Don Ferguson of Meaford called on Mr. and Mrs. John Wickens last Thursday and all went to Pi"iceville to spend the "vening. We arp glad to learn that Mr. Will Weber is continuing to improve in health. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weber spent Sunday with Mural and family. KIMBERLEY Mrs. Steiwart McMidlen Passes In Toronto Nellie Kathleen Spencer, wife of Stewart McMuUen. passed away on Tuesday, Dec. ftth, ai the home of her sister. Mrs. Glen Davis, 91 Edige- wood Ave., Toronto. Deceased was the younj^est daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. John ^>^cer of Dutroon, and was bom near Fever- sham. She received her education from Fenrersham public school and Flesherton high school, after which she attended the Toronto Normal and the Ontario Ollege of Art. She served several schools in Osprey and Toi-onto. In l.'^42 she was married to Mr. Stewart Mb.Mullen of Hamil- ton, formerly of Feversham. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her loss, her parents and three sisters: Mrs. Glen Davis (Eva). Toronto: Mrs. J. A. Bell (Ruth). Col- lingwood. and Mi"s. T. W. Beatty (Viva), Toi-onto. The funeral service was held at the parental home in Dunti"oon on Friday, Dec. 12th. arui was conduct- ed by Rev. F. Dean of Shelbume. assisted by Rev. Bimie of Dunti-oon and Rev. A. Mills of CoUin^vood. During the service Mr. and Mrs. Dean sang^ "Holy. Holy. Holy is what the .Angels sing." The pallbearei"s were six brothers- in-law: Dr. Glinin Davis. T. W. The Hall board sponsored a suc- cessful dance in the Community Hall on Friday night. Miss Irene Wickens of Clarksburg is visiting her sister, Mrs. C. Ward, i The Co-operative Creamery held ' their annual meeting Saturday, when all officers and directors were return- ed to office. The creamery Inspector greatly praised the quality of butter being made and also the way in which all other work was beiT^ done. Miss Lucy Haines has g»ne to Union community for a couple weeks to assist Mrs. G. Baker. BUCKINGHAM ROCK MILLS Beautiful weather this Monday morning.
