Miss Marjorie Newell arrived at her home on March 9th, to carry on the work and wait on her mothei, who has .been laid up since March 4th with an injured ankle. Miss Gwen Ellis is gone to Coll- ingwood to join the staff of the Bell Telephone Co. A pleasant party was held in the CM. Hall on Friday evening in hon- or of Mr. and Mife- Gordon Fawcett. They were gliven a miscellaneous shower. Gordon just returned from overseas with his English bride. A farewell party wafe held in the C.M. Hall on Monday evening for Mr- and Mts. Clarence Soul, who leave on Wednesday for their new home -at Port Hope, where Clarence has bought a fruit and poultry farm. Mrs. Arnold Ferguson and Mr- and Mrs. Ivan Soul of Thornbury spent Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs- Thos. Soul. Mr. and Mrfe. Clarence Soul on Monday evening were presented with an electric table lamp, iron, silex and small stove, also a co-fifee table on the occasion of their leaving this vicinity- Clarence thanked the friends and neighbors very fittingly.
