TO HOG PRODUCERS Producers of hogs in Canada are reminded that the increase in the number of overfinished and over- weight hogs now being marketed is creating a very serious and acute problem in the export bacon and do- mestic pork trade. Farmers are there- fore strongly advised to refrain from overfinishing and to endeavor to market their hogs before reaching a weight of 230 pounds at the farm. mim [^V^ Bum [HICKS Order Bray Chicks now, and be "lud^" when egg prices climb next FalL Sec me, or phone me, right away. The ico harvest has been in full .swing during the past week and most of the user.s of this natural com- modity have their store houses filled. The ice is about fourteen inches thick and of vei-y good quality. It is stated that a Markdale dealer has given a contract to the local men to supply 1500 blocks. Cutting has been in pro- gress on both the Munshaw and Mc- Cauley pond.s. This district has experienced almost all kinds of weather during the past few days. Sunday afternoon and ev- enirtg rain froze as it fell and made the roads dangerous for travel. Warmer weather then set in and the rain continued steady moat of the night. Monday morning a cold wave commenced and by Tuesday morning the temperature reached a few dexree^ below lero. Colds and flu are rampant due, no doubt, to the chanire- able weather.
