Fred Sproule Dead A telegram was received here Monday morning which conveyed the sad news' hat Fred Sproule had died at Winnipeg on Saturday, but Rave no particulars as :o the cause of his death. Fred was born and brought up in Flesherton, eeciving his early education here. Years ago he went to Winnipeg, ..where le studied law and for some years has ?een practicing there. He married a Wiss Scott of Winnipeg who survives, but there are r.o children. When the war broke out Fred went overseas, and vhilc not wounded he|acctdentally broke lis ankle a day or so before starting or home. For some t-'rae he has been roubled with rheumatism and when down here a few weks ago, at tha time of his father's death, he said he in- ended to undergo an operation for the I removal of his tonsils, for which he slamed his ailing condition. Besides ' lis widow he leaves one sister, Mrs. jeo. Higginbotham of Winnipeg. Many friends here were shocked to hear of his death and extend their sympathy n the sorrowing wife and sister. Mrs* Jas. Moore, at Sturgeon Falls, o.i Saturday, and the remains were brought to Flesherton by the noon train on Tuesday, from whence they were taken to the Meaford Hoad cemetery for interment. The deceased lady came from Ireland with her parents when a young woman and married Wm. Beatty. They lived in Colorado ur.tij the latter's death when she with two children came to Artemesia, where she resided on Stone's Line with a sister, Mrs. Geo. Patterson. One daughter, Lizzie, is married and living inColorado- The other daughter, Mamie (Mrs. J. B. Moore) lives at Sturgeon Falls. One son died here some years ago. Mrs- Beatty's maiden name was Clark, and she is the last member of her family.
