At the home of his niece, Mrs. John A. Stewart, in Hamilton, John Gerber, retired farmer, passed away on Monday, May 25. Deceased was in his 81st year and was a member of the Trinity United Church, Grimsby. He was a native of Switzerland and had been a resident of Grimsby for the past 21 years. His wife predeceased him five years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lewis C. Armston, Port McNicoll; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dowdall, Chisolm, Ontario; Mrs. Frederick Kernen, in Colorado, and a brother, Jacob Gerber, Nipissing. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.J. Watt from his late home on Ontario Street. Pallbearers were Kenneth Bratton, William Fisher, Milton Morris, Willis Bartlett, James Baker, and Albert Jarvis. Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
