THE LATE STORM
During the thunder storm on Wednesday the 22nd, the residence of Mr. Frank Thompson, of Artemesia, was struck by lightning and a girl of about 14 years stunned so that she died a few hours afterwards. No other damage was done to house or occupants. During the same storm a man named Leighton, employed by John Brett, near Primrose, was killed by lightning while unloading grain, the barn was saved. A barn belonging to James Stinson, 8th con. of Mulmer, was also struck and burned, it contained a large quantity of fall wheat and barley, loss over $1,500. May other destructive fires occurred from the same storm.
