Artscene By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Oakville model and cosmetics salesperson Jessie Sulidis sure knows how get herself in the spotlight. She has made an appearance on three different The Bachelor/Bachelorette shows and now she is set to appear on a fourth by the same production company, a new show called The Bachelor Pad. "They called me," she said of how she got on the show. "They try to pick memorable characters and people that are going to cause drama, people that are going to click, people that aren't going to click. So they try to get a mix of people. So you have your good guys, your villains. Once they taped the Bachelorette where I made the call about Justin, I guess they thought I deserved a chance at The Bachelor Pad." The new show, which will air its first episode on Aug. 9 on ABC, and CityTV, will feature 19 memorable Bachelor and Bachelorette cast-offs. This time however, instead of competing for an engagement ring, the contestants are each vying to be the last person in the Los Angeles pad, by voting the others out, to win $250,000. Sulidis was originally a contestant vying for Jake Pavelka's love on ABC's most recent The Bachelor series. Though she didn't get the engagement, she got quite far as she made it to the top seven on the reality TV dating show. However, when she was kicked off without receiving a rose, she was not done. The Bachelor was followed by The Bachelorette, in which one of her former competitors, Ali Fedotowsky, was at the centre of attention among a pool of guys. Sulidis made a call into the show and told Fedotowsky that one of the competitors on the show actually had a girlfriend. And most recently, Sulidis 23 · Wednesday, August 4, 2010 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.oakvillebeaver.com Sign up now for guitar, bass, drums, and piano OAKVILLE'S MUSIC STORE Jessie Sulidis returns to Bachelor show appeared on the Bachelorette: The Men Tell All on July 26 where she talked about how she knew what she knew. Now, things are about to heat up even more for the 25-year-old Oakville Trafalgar High School graduate. "All I can say it's going to be a wild show," said Sulidis, who returned to Oakville once filming wrapped up. "I'm a bit nervous for it to air just because it was drama filled. I felt things I didn't think I would feel and it really breaks you down as a person. I think all of us cried on that show and I'm not a crier." Though the show airs in August, it was actually filmed in June. "Nobody knows who the winner is because we go back to film it," she said. "But everything before that has already been filmed." Of course, Sulidis won't say too much about the show, saying people will just have to watch it to see what happens. "I think it's really going to surprise people when they see what the challenges are," she said. She added the challenges are designed in a way that one gender doesn't have an advantage over another. Though the participants are competing for cash, it is still The Bachelor, so people should expect to see some romance. "Because it is The Bachelor there is a dating aspect to it too," Sulidis said. "So you see there's a lot of hook ups. And you'll see some people hook up with multiple people. There are some relationships that blossom out of there or there is some hooking up. It's a wild show and I think it's definitely going to entertain." The Bachelor Pad features six of the contestants from Sulidis' season of The Bachelor, along with others from previous shows.
