Garrett Holmes ran for three touchdowns, including an 85-yard score. Holmes' three touchdowns raised another $3,300 for the Go Garrett Go fundraising campaign, bumping the season total to nearly $18,000. Jeremy Clark, who started at quarterback for the Cowboys, rushed for Halton's other major. Clark also hooked up with Josh Roberts and Hunter Melito for pass completions. Roberts was also solid on the defensive side of the ball, making numerous individual tackles. The Cowboys' win sets up a showdown with the Brampton Bulldogs tomorrow (Saturday) for top spot in the Ontario Minor Football League standings. Kickoff at King's Christian Collegiate is set for 12:30 p.m. The Halton tykes were also victorious last weekend, downing Etobicoke 24-18. The Cowboys preserved the win with a goal-line stand in the final minute of the game. Peter Nkongolo and Aidan Figliola were key contributors on defence during the contest, while offensive lineman Carter Haywood did a solid job protecting the quarterback. The tyke Cowboys host Beaton tomorrow at King's, beginning at 11 a.m. In Ontario Varsity Football League play, the junior varsity Cowboys fell 37-10 to the London Falcons. Wes Miller had a 94-yard rushing touchdown and Luke Puckerin kicked a field goal to account for the Cowboys' points. The junior varsity team will be home to the Georgetown Crimson Tide tomorrow, a 3 p.m. kickoff at St. Ignatius of Loyola.
