Three Cru on provincial team Three members of the Oakville Crusaders women's under-18 program have been named to the provincial under-16 team. Katherine Karthaus, Danielle Spice and Kendyl Wilson earned spots on the Ontario squad after participating in six weekends of tryouts around the province. "I am very proud of these players. Their work ethic and dedication will serve them well in representing our town and province," said Crusaders head coach Craig Inward. "Being selected to this team is a significant achievement." All three players also play rugby at their high schools. Karthaus plays for Holy Trinity, Spice suits up for Oakville Trafalgar and Wilson represents White Oaks. Division championships were decided at the junior peanut, senior peanut, tyke, novice, peewee, bantam and midget levels. Below is a quick synopsis of all the division finals: Junior peanut Zachary Wigle, Joshua Ford, Brett Hardy and Tyler Van Loare supplied the other Rock markers. Tyke Tyler Ford collected two goals and three assists, Lucas Hucal and Thomas Sinclair also scored twice each, and the Rock downed the Shamrox 8-1. Matthew Darroch and Gavin Ashmore had singles for the Rock. Jack Arro netted the Shamrox lone goal. Novice Ben Sheehan scored twice and Zachary Jones and Curtis Douglas also tallied, lifting the Roughnecks to a 4-2 win over the Wings. Grant Paterson scored twice in a losing cause. Peewee Five different players scored one goal each for the Titans as they got past the Bandits 5-3. Jack Copeland, Brian McGinnis, Nick Randell, Matthew Kealy and Joseph Serrao provided the Titans offence. Blake Mueller (two) and Ryan Tautrims replied for the Bandits. Bantam The Titans needed a shootout to finally edge the Rock 5-4. Colin Clarke had two goals and Chris Martin and Sean McLaren also scored for the Titans in regulation. Mitchell Anderson (two), Cameron Swinoga and Jacob Serensits had the Rock goals. Midget Christian Crowley, Matthew Voyce, Nick Russo, Joel Matson and Brad Steigmaier scored for the Bandits in a 5-2 win over the Shamrox. Sean Mackenzie and Jeremy Lister netted the Shamrox markers.
