He was 79. Longtime husband of Rita (Roy) for 61 years. Cherished dad of Suzanne (Stuart), Lea (Philip), Chris, John, Lisa (Don), Tammy (Ken) and J a n e y ( d e c e a s e d ) . Te d w a s " P o p p y " to twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was the son of Carl & May Askin (both deceased). He had five brothers Charlie, Jerr y, John (all deceased), Gary and Carl now living on Vancouver Island. Also a sister Carrol Sharpe living in H a g e r s v i l l e , O n t a r i o . Te d l o v e d l i f e and most of his life was one of "God's talkers" known as Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved music especially country western. He played banjo and violin. Theres no doubt he will be missed by many. He did different jobs throughout life. He worked for years at Monsanto Chemical in Oakville and t h e o l d B a s k e t F a c t o r y. F o r t w e n t y three years he drove a car- carrier for Maris Transport which he often said was the highlight of his life. Many of his wood carvings and small items he made out of wood are scattered around the countr y. He wrote many poems and songs which will always bring back memories of him. You are at rest now, Dad. We all miss you and love you. Rita and kids. Cremation has taken place. She was 76. She is survived by her 3 sons, Wayne of Hamilton, ON, Michael of Elziver, ON and Daniel and wife Shirley of Campbell River, B.C. Also survived by d a u g h t e r - i n - l a w Tr a c y ( w i d o w o f B r u c e ) , g r a n d d a u g h t e r Ly n d s e y a n d g r e a t - g r a n d d a u g h t e r, R y l e y o f N o v a Scotia; her two sisters, Nora Seper and Emil of Shelburne, ON and Audrey Williston, Moncton, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Phoebe Helen (Gallant) and Michael Austin Wall; the father of her children, Roland King in 1976 and two sons, Eddie in infancy and Bruce in 1986 as the result of a motorcycle accident, and her second husband, William Bradshaw in 1999. Nancy's sons have carried out her last wishes as an o r g a n d o n o r. OWEN-TURNER, Carly Dianna - May 12, 1997 ­ June 22, 2010. Our beautiful little girl was taken from us suddenly on June 22, 2010 at the age of thirteen in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Although her life was too short, she touched so many people.
