For more event details, please visit www.oakville-vw.ca Elite Volleyball Players' Charity Volleyball Tournaments Elite Volleyball Players (EVP) is a new company situated in Oakville that focuses on strengthening current and prospective player's skill levels by providing indoor/outdoor leagues, annual charity tournaments and development camps for both adult and youth groups. To celebrate the launch of EVP, a series of charity beach volleyball tournaments will be held at Coronation Park that will raise funds to support the equipment needs of OTMH and future equipment needs at the New Oakville Hospital. There are three tournament dates to choose from: · Saturday, July 17, 2010 · Saturday, August 7, 2010 Thank You to the Residents of Valley View On Saturday, June 12, 2010 the residents of Valley View, a neighbourhood in Oakville at Dundas and Neyagawa held their annual Valley View Open Golf Tournament in support of Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). This year the Valley View Open raised $19,000 for OTMH. We would like to thank the organizing committee; Shaun Muldoon, Jimmy Muldoon and Peter Kolisnyk for planning and executing a great tournament. We would also like to thank everyone who played in the Open, the sponsors and prize donors for making this year such a success. Parsons Bursary Recipients Established in 1987, in recognition of Lillian H. (Joy) Parsons' 36 years as Executive Director of OakvilleTrafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH), this fund provides annual bursaries to assist children of OTMH staff with their post-secondary education. The bursary is funded through donations to the Lillian H. Parsons Bursary Fund with the only interest of being used for bursary disbursements. Criteria for selection of bursary candidates are based on academic grades, volunteer and community involvement as well as extra-curricular activities. Twelve very deserving students were this year's recipients of the Lillian H. (Joy) Parsons Bursary Awards, which were presented on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Halton Healthcare Services Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony. This year's Lillian H. Parsons Bursary Award recipients were: Christine Anthony, Lauren DeJong, Chelsea Desveaux, Aryan Eftekhari, Zac Griep, Nisha Howarth, Alyssa Kealey, Peter Lozinski, Tanya Markova, Amber Maxwell, Eden Moffatt and Chris Smith. Resources Saved by OTMH Halton Healthcare Services takes part in a number of green initiatives and in 2009 Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) was able to conserve some of the planets most valuable resources! One hundred and forty-two cubic yards were diverted from the landfill, 804 trees were saved, 189,000 kilowatts of energy and 331,100 litres of water were saved and conserved all last year.
