www.oakvillebeaver.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Thursday, June 10, 2010 · 14 Two men rob variety store in Bronte Halton police are looking for two men after a robbery at Bronte Variety in Bronte Village Tuesday night. Two males entered the store just before 9 p.m. and demanded the lone employee turn over the cash from the register. One suspect showed a silver coloured hand gun. The other suspect gave the employee a garbage bag and ordered the person to fill it with an undisclosed amount of cash. One of the suspects gathered as many lottery tickets as he could and put them in the bag as well. The suspects then ordered the employee to lie on the floor while they escaped on foot. They were last seen running west on Lakeshore Road. The employee was not injured. The first suspect is described as white, 40-years-old. He wore a black jacket similar to an Adidas jacket, a white hoodie, black baseball hat with a red shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as dark complexion, 20-years-old. He wore a black baseball cap and a black hoodie. The second suspect was in possession of the gun. Police are continuing to investigate this incident. Lock garage doors, police warn After several incidents of break and enters into unlocked homes and garages during the overnight hours, police warn residents to lock their doors. The Halton Regional Police Service said culprits have gone away with cameras, laptop computers, GPS systems and purses from unlocked vehicles parked inside the garage. These types of crimes can be prevented and police provide people with the following tips: · Close and lock all garage doors, ground floor doors and windows before going to bed at night. · Do not leave spare keys to the house in vehicles. · Keep vehicles locked at all items. · If you have a garage, park vehicles in the garage. · If a home has an alarm, activate the alarm before going to bed. · If residents are away on vacation, they should have a family friend check on their home routinely.
