www.oakvillebeaver.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, June 9, 2010 · 16 The Regional NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE #2 Municipality of Halton www.halton.ca NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE #1 Class Environmental Assessment Study Trafalgar Road (Regional Road 3) Corridor Improvements Cornwall Road to Highway 407 Town of Oakville Master Plan Class Environmental Assessment Study and Pumping Station Capital Needs Assessment The Study Background Halton Region has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment to consider transportation corridor improvement options to satisfy future travel demands on Trafalgar Road from Cornwall Road to Highway pumping stations located in the southern portion of the City of Burlington and the Town of Oakville. The aim of this study is to take an integrated approach to the planning and asset renewal of the pumping stations within the drainage areas of the Burlington Skyway, Oakville Southwest and Oakville Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plants. The Master Plan number of studies were initiated or completed which have resulted in the need to expand the study options for the Sustainable Halton Water and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan Study. The Process The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for master plans alternatives will be examined, including roadway widening and/or reconstruction, bus rapid transit, and intersection improvements. The study will also examine the impact of such improvements on the social, natural, cultural and economic environments. Process This study is being conducted in compliance with Schedule `C' of the Municipal Class Environmental solutions, evaluate the proposed alternative solutions, and recommend a Preferred Servicing Solution. Public consultation is an integral part of the planning process. and determine a preferred solution in consultation with the Town of Oakville, regulatory agencies, and the public. Public Information Centres (PICs) will be held in two locations: Municipality City of Burlington with presentation at Public Information Centre Time Location Burlington Art Centre Shoreline Room 1333 Lakeshore Road, Walton Memorial United Church Bronte Hall Town of Oakville with presentation at Burlington, Ontario The map below shows the approximate limits public input on the problem being addressed, of the study area. background information and planning alternatives being considered. Anyone with an interest in the study is invited to attend and participate. If you cannot attend and would like to provide comments, The PICs will provide an opportunity to review and comment on the decision making process for evaluating the different conceptual alternative solutions in the three drainage areas of Oakville and Burlington. Preliminary recommended servicing solutions for each of the drainage areas will also be presented. Representatives from Halton Region and its consultants will be available to provide information and answer questions. Upon completion, a Master Plan Report will be prepared to document the planning process followed, including conclusions and recommendations, and how public input was received and addressed. The Master Plan Report will be available for public review for a minimum of individuals on the project contact list.
