"We're better than them, and we knew that," said the 17-yearold, who will be making her third trip to OFSAA rugby. "I was never nervous. This is our field." The Devils didn't look better than the Titans in the first half, however -- quite a testament to Trinity coach Chris Chliszczk and his staff. The Titans showed substantial improvement from their previous meeting with the Devils, despite having only a four-game regular season to do so. "I think we outplayed them in the first half," Chliszczk said. "We were playing really good rugby. I was really happy and impressed with our girls." Big plays by the Devils and the hot weather both contributed to the Trinity demise in the second half. "(The Titans) played a very energy-sapping kind of offence. They were very tired," Lui said. "They were a lot bigger than we were. "I think our fitness came through." This year was the first season of rugby for many of Trinity's players. Next year, with most of the team returning, Chliszczk hopes the Titans can pick up where they left off. "Hopefully we'll have less work to build up," he said. "Our new players this year were able to learn the game and pick it up because of their athleticism." Lui anticipates his team will be seeded in the top six at provincials, noting that the Devils usually are ranked fourth or fifth. OT has finished fifth at the last two OFSAA tournaments. The girls' team has never advanced past the quarter-final round. "That's definitely a goal I think we can break," Lui said. "Our goal is to get an OFSAA medal, any colour."
