On Thursday, representatives from Trinison as well as Starlane Home Corporation and Rosehaven Homes gathered at a site near the woodlands, just north of the Dundas Street and Neyagawa Boulevard area, and presented Oakville Mayor Rob Burton with the registered deed to the lands. "This is a great example of what happens when the public sector and the private sector work together towards a common goal," said Colin McGregor, Trinison President. Trinison is the first company to contribute land to the North Oakville Natural Heritage System, which is expected to eventually contain 700-750 hectares worth of protected woodlots. While the preservation of woodlots is moving forward, so too is the development at the corner of Dundas Street and Neyagawa Boulevard with Trinison bringing in Starlane and Rosehaven to construct the first of the new communities of Oakville, which will be dubbed Woodland Trails. Approximately 600 homes will be built in this community consisting of a mix of single detached, semi-detached and townhouse dwellings. The land has already been cleared with construction on the homes expected to begin next fall. By the time the new Oakville communities are complete 25 years from now, they will house nearly 550,000 residents and nearly 35,000 jobs.
