Abbey Park earned a grand total of 291.74 points to win its division by 2.18 points over the second-place T.A. Blakelock Tigers. Abbey Park's point total was also the highest of all advanced teams to compete at the nationals. The Eagles didn't stop there, however, also winning the team tumbling competition. "All of the coaches are extremely proud of these dedicated athletes -- they came to win and to own the floor," said Abbey Park coach Taryn Davis. "They demonstrated that they deserved all of these titles." Members of the Abbey Park squad are Bianca Bantoto, Katie Bentley, Lauren Chandler, Jessica Dowling, Melissa Dowling, Meghan DuChene, Serena Feeney, DeAsia Gaffer, Victoria Gonidis, Camille Guerin Marion, Beth Hall, Katie Hall, Gabby Heyman, Kylie Hogan, Hannah Hyland, Jessica Kalil, Olivia Kozak, Sylvia Larke, Lori Leclair, Victoria Maybee, Chelsea Mifsud, Taylor Morris, Moriah Nelson, Elizabeth Parker, Lauren Potts, Jessica Savona, Dana Seagrove, Jenna Seagrove, VaNessah Sears-Duru, Lauren Smith, Alyssa Turchet, Liuba Turlova, Amanda Vanderheide, Ceresa Van Lieshout, Stephanie Wetherald, Sophie Wilding, Ashley Wood, Kendra Wood and Krishna Yemany. Laura Krumpek, Dale Hawtin, Vicki Seguire and Kristina Stepanich also coach the Eagles. The White Oaks Wildcats also represented Oakville at the nationals, finishing second in the school small senior intermediate division. Fencing medalists at Waterloo meet Several members of the Canadian Fencing Academy had strong finishes at the Ontario Challenge Circuit championships recently in Waterloo. Andrea Csiba had the best showing of the local fencers, winning the gold in the women's epee. Dave Murphy was Canadian Fencing Academy's other medalist, earning bronze in the veteran's foil. Other notable performances included Yushi Liang (sixth, women's foil), Sam Salerno (eighth, men's foil), Roman Jakubowski (11th, men's epee), Robert Chung (12th, men's foil) and Cornelio Azarcon (21st, men's epee). Competitive club members are now preparing for next month's world cup meet in Montreal.
