Oakville man killed in head-on crash Police are investigating whether driver fatigue may have contributed to a head-on collision that killed an Oakville man. At about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, a Chrysler van was southbound on Regional Road 25, about 300 metres north of Lower Baseline Road, when a northbound tractor-trailer unit crossed the centre line and collided with the van, according to Halton Regional Police. The driver of the van, 38-year-old Alan Larocque, was thrown from his vehicle and died instantly at the scene. The truck driver wasn't physically injured, but was treated for shock at the scene. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the collision; the cause continues to be investigated by Halton police's Collision Reconstruction Unit. Regional Road 25 was closed for much of the day. Larocque was lead guitarist for Slippery When Wet, who billed themselves as Canada's ultimate tribute to Bon Jovi. The band was established in 2002.
