The cable shorted out at around 10:37 p.m., affecting the area bounded by Queen Mary Drive, Dorval Drive, Speers Road and Deane Avenue in the Kerr Village area. Oakville Hydro personnel were able to get on scene and restore power to the area by 11:47 p.m. The cable is still being repaired, according to Oakville Hydro.
