They felt they were playing for the Minor Oaks Hockey Association's entire atom division. Oakville's lone atom team to reach an OMHA final, the Rangers won the OMHA championship Saturday at Oakville Arena with a 3-2 overtime win over the Wildcats. Many atom players from other Oakville teams were on hand to witness the Rangers' third straight OT win of the series. "It was actually unbelievable," said Oakville head coach Scott Stevenson. "I've never seen more fans cry... we won it for our division. Every city loves a champion, but everyone really rallied around this one." Adam Grace scored the OT winner Saturday, as he did in the previous two games as well. Oakville won Game 1 by a 3-2 score, then rallied from a 4-2 third-period deficit to edge the Wildcats 5-4 in the second game. The sweep of Whitby avenged a loss to the Wildcats in the final of this year's International Silver Stick tournament. The Rangers went 52-10-7 overall this year, including a 15-0-1 record in the OMHA playdowns. They averaged 5.5 goals for and 1.3 goals against in the playdowns. -- Jon Kuiperij FURNACE & CENTRAL AIR R * ONLY $ PACKAGE INCLUDES: · 96% High Efficiency Two Stage Variable Speed Gas Furnace · 15.75 SEER High Efficiency Central Air R410A Refrigerant · 10 Years Factory Warranty *After Government, Aire One and Manufacturer Rebates.
