Our 2010 spring @your library guide has been available for many weeks, giving you the opportunity to browse the events and programs to see everything that you and your family can sign up for. Registration for all our spring preschool programs begins on Saturday, Feb. 20, so make sure you go online through iris at www.oakville.ca or by telephone at 905-815-2000 to avoid disappointment. Our children's programs are hugely popular and many are free. Experience them and spend some quality time with your child, helping develop their literacy skills and learning invaluable tips from our professional children's programming staff. The fun never stops in our many children's programs ranging from drop-in Family Storytimes suitable for the whole family, to Shake, Rattle & Read, in which literacy is developed through songs, music dance and rhyme. Register for some March Break specials for children, including some amazing partnership programs with Oakville Galleries. Your kids can enjoy March Break with TURBOcomics: Cartooning for the Graphic Novice or the Hannah Montana Party at Iroquois Ridge Branch. As well as the many preschool and children's programs, we also offer some fantastic adult programs and events throughout the spring months, including author visits, small business seminars and newcomers programs. If business and career development are of interest to you, our small business seminars and resume help says run throughout the year. Check out our Adult Programs section in the @your library guide for details of these and many other workshops, including Beginners Internet and Genealogy. Registration is easy and the classes are a great way of developing some new skills in a user friendly environment. If you are new to Canada, we offer some great programs, all free of charge. Take your pick from settlement services, introduction to basic computers to our newcomers conversation network. Many of our newcomer programs are offered in partnership with Halton Multicultural Council or The Centre for Skills Development & Training.
