In Ontario, that is more than 120,000 people of all cultural, racial and economic backgrounds. Schizophrenia strikes people in the prime of their lives, in their late teens and early adult years. For more information about schizophrenia or the yogathon, visit www.schizophrenia.on.ca. Founded in Oakville in 1979, the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario is a nonprofit organization offering a reason to hope and the means to cope for families affected by schizophrenia. SSO provides support, education, and advocacy on behalf of people and families affected by schizophrenia through its network of Chapters and regional offices in communities across Ontario.
