Oakville MINOR FOOTBALL OAKVILLE TITANS REGISTRATION Don't Miss The Atom Venom fourth at own tourney The Oakville Venom atom boys' basketball team won its first two games at its own tournament last weekend in Oakville to reach the medal round. The Venom opened with a 45-33 win over the Oakville Vytis, then downed Mississauga 43-35. A 48-42 loss to Newman concluded the round-robin portion of the tournament. In the medal round, the Venom fell 55-37 to eventual champion Durham in the semifinals and then dropped a 54-46 decision to Newman in the bronze-medal game. Elija Lostracco led the Venom in scoring in three of its games, while Stefan Rajacic had a team-high 12 points against Durham and J.B. Cabrera scored eight against Newman. The Vytis followed up its loss to the Venom with defeats at the hands of Newman (47-29) and Mississauga (51-48). Simisola Shittu and Akaash Viswanathan were the Vytis' high scorers against the Venom and Jacob Cerny paced the Vytis against Newman.
