www.oakvillebeaver.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Tuesday, December 29, 2009 · 30 AMEC is united FOR OAKVILLE: As the United Way of Oakville (UWO) extends its 2009 campaign into the first month of 2010 in a bid to reach its $3.6 million goal, AMEC has risen to the new challenge. After having donated to the campaign, AMEC is focusing on some new in-house fundraising initiatives in a bid to help push the UWO to its goal. The UWO funds more than 30 local social service agencies and refused to accept achieving 95 per cent of its goal given that it would mean longer wait lists, reduced services or even local residents not accessing the help they need. Here, UWO Campaign Cabinet Chair Ann Mulvale stands with AMEC employees who just days into the new, extended campaign had raised an additional $900. To donate to the UWO, contact www.uwoakville.org, call 905-845-5571, or 466 Speers Rd., Suite 200, Oakville ON L6K 3W9.
