To celebrate this special occasion, the choir will present Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi. They will also perform a selection of Christmas favourites, which will include the popular audience sing-along of familiar carols. The orchestra for this concert will feature professional musicians from various Toronto ensembles, led by Sasha Weinstangel. Guest soloists include Corinne Lynch, Laura Schatz and Jessica Lloyd. Their accompanist is Anne Marie Leonard. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12, at Glen Abbey United Church, 1469 Nottinghill Gate. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students (ID is required). Children 12 and under will be admitted free. Tickets can be obtained by calling 905825-0776 or 905-827-6129. They can also be purchased at the door. Nativity play Trinity United Church is presenting an outdoor nativity play at its church on Dec. 18. at 7:30 p.m. at 1250 McCraney St. E. The play was written by Rev. Darrow Woods and is preformed by members of the Trinity congregation with music provided by the Trinity Choir. Come and walk with Mary and Joseph as they did over 2,000 years ago, as they try to find room at the inn, see the angels bring the news of the birth of Jesus to the shepherds in the fields, and see the wise men as they bring their gifts to the new born king. Afterwards, join them at the Bethlehem Inn for refreshments. Donations are requested for the Trinity Food Bank.
