The Town of Oakville invites local sports groups, residents and all potential users to submit name suggestions for the new quadpad arena. Opening in September 2010, the 196,000sq.-ft. arena complex located on Neyagawa Boulevard, north of Dundas features a 1,500 seat Olympic-sized ice surface and three NHL-sized ice pads, two shooter pads, a restaurant and concession stands and three community rooms. A grand opening celebration is planned for Sept. 11, 2010. "The quad pad arena will be the first new facility in the new communities of Oakville and will provide our growing community with more choice for ice sports and recreational activities," Mayor Rob Burton said. "We know residents will come up with a name that has some resonance and meaning, because in the end it will be their place to come together."
