Youth and jazz concerts The Oakville Symphony Orchestra will present the first in its series of mini-concerts this season by reintroducing Vernon Rabbit, on Saturday, Nov. 7 in the lobby of the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Navy Street. There will be two performances: at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. This is the musical story of Vernon's adventure, when he and his family come down from Muskoka to visit their relatives in Oakville. The story was written and will be narrated by Ian Morrison, who, like Vernon and his cousin and friends, is a member of the Oakville Symphony Orchestra. Vernon takes the place of a vacationing member of his cousin's band which plays lively music, and children will have an opportunity to help conduct the band and sing along with the music. Admission is free, but spaces are limited and should be reserved by phone at 905-844-6920 or by e-mail at osochildrenconcert@gmail.com. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
