On Oct. 9, the man was released on a Halton court-ordered recognizance relating to domestic violence charges and ordered not to be within Oakville. On Oct. 14, members of the Halton Police Guns and Gangs Unit monitored his activities while he was in Oakville and then arrested him for trafficking in crack cocaine in Burlington -- recovering a quantity of cocaine, Canadian currency, a digital scale and five cell phones. Early the next morning, Halton police, with the help of the Peel Police Gang Unit, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at the man's Mississauga residence where they seized a quantity of Canadian currency. In total, police seized 17 grams of crack and powdered cocaine -- estimated to be worth $1,400 on the street -- and more than $6,000 in Canadian currency. The man was held for a bail hearing. Police remind the public to utilize Crime Stoppers to report on any illegal gang, gun, or drug activity at 1-800-222-8477.
