Shave for Shelter at Niblick Pub Jennifer Gill, a server at the Niblick Pub, 1011 Upper Middle Rd., is shaving her head this Friday in a fundraiser for Halton Women's Place (HWP). Gill is collecting pledges and organizing a raffle draw as part of Shave for Shelter. "I can't imagine walking on eggshells in my home from morning to night. Furthermore, I can't imagine the exact moment for some of those women, some of whom are mothers, when they decide that they need to leave. Hopefully, a lot can be accomplished from this," said Gill. The event is set for Friday, Aug. 14. The raffle will take place at 8:30 p.m. and a lucky winner will shave Gill's head the same night. Local band, The Mad Patties, will play starting at 9 p.m. The Niblick Pub has been a HWP supporter for five years and also participates in the Riverside Walk for the shelter every September. This year, the walk is Sunday, Sept. 27.
