Fan-favourite Daly accepts exemption to play in Open One of the PGA Tour's most popular players has decided to throw his hat into the ring for the upcoming RBC Canadian Open. Long-hitting, hard-swinging John Daly has accepted an exemption to compete in the tournament, which will run July 20-26 at Glen Abbey Golf Club. Daly has competed in seven Canadian Opens during his PGA Tour career, finishing fourth in 2001. He last appeared in Canada two years ago. "John has dealt with some personal and health issues that have affected him both on and off the golf course, but in my most recent conversations with John, he is committed to his PGA Tour career," said Bill Paul, tournament director of the RBC Canadian Open. "John has been a long-time supporter of Canada's national Open championship and I think Canadian golf fans will join us in welcoming him back."
