Halton Region's Health Department tests recreational water throughout the region weekly -- testing beaches based on their use for swimming and other water sports. Beach water samples taken on July 7 revealed the following beaches have acceptable levels of bacteria and are safe for swimming: · Bronte Park Beach and Coronation Park East and West in Oakville, · Kelso Conservation Area in Milton, · The Beachway North in Burlington, · South and Prospect Park Old Beach in Halton Hills. Residents can call Halton Region to find out which beaches have been closed due to poor water quality. Beach quality information is available 24 hours a day by dialing 311 or calling 905-825-6000, toll free 1-866-442-5866 or TTY 905-827-9983.
