To the Editor of the _Standard._ Dear Sir,--Through your columns I wish to make following enquiry, namely, how out of 75 delegates legally entitled to vote at the Conservative Convention held at Markdale on the 11th inst., could 112 votes be polled? The number of delegates entitled to vote is as follows:-- [Table refotmatted for plain text.] Artemesia, 12; Collingwood, 17; Euphrasia, 21; Holland, 15; Sullivan, 5; Osprey, nil; Officers of the association entitled to vote for candidates for the Local, three of them voting, namely, Secretary, Treasurer, and Corresponding Secretary, 3. Total, 75. Now, Sir, the above figures shows the number of legal votes present at the above convention and how was the balance procured? I think it was by special invitation to pack the convention in favor of Mr. Rorke and against myself. However I hope some of the officers will explain how this very large vote was polled from the municipalitied above set forth, leaving a surplus of 37 to be placed. Whom shall I give credit for the manipulation? Such work will not be tolerated by the true Conservatives of East Grey. By giving the above space in your columns you will oblige, Yours truly, Neil McColman, M.P.P. Thornbury, Oct. 25th, 1886.
