On Sunday evening at eleven o'clock a fire broke out in the Royal Block, owned by Mr. Jelly, completely destroying it. Loss $15,000; insured for $5,000 in the Waterloo Mutual. Jessop & Hogg, dry-goods and groceries, loss $7,500; insured for $2,000. [Floy] & Mason, loss $20,000; insured for $2,000 in the City of London. Royal $1,000. Caledonian $1,000. J. F. [Belzry], drug and book store, loss $2,00; insured for $1,000. Geo. Gillespie, photographer, loss $3,000; insured in the Northern for $1,500. R. W. Tuck, Royal Hotel, loss $4,000; insured in the Northern for $2,000.
